Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cells Technologies

Nowadays, with the increasing knowledge of physiological and pathologic cellular processes as well as extensive research on signaling pathways, interaction of cells through extracellular vesicles, development of organoids and their application in disease modeling and drug screening and also the advent of new technologies in cellular engineering and genetic manipulation, we have witnessed dramatic changes in the field of regenerative medicine and particularly cell therapy.

Considerable advances in Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine during the past decade, has created much hope for the treatment of chronic and incurable illnesses, such as various cancers, genetic illnesses, illnesses due to old age, and deterioration of tissues and organs

The closing ceremony of the second student Olympiad on stem cells and regenerative medicine was held in the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs and the winners were awarded

Research projects on stem cells will be supported due to the cooperation between the Iranian national science foundation and the council for stem cells sciences and technologies.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, the four-year performance book of the council for stem cells sciences and technologies was unveiled on the 130th executive meeting of the mentioned council.

The symposium on immune-cell therapy in cancer will be held March 1st 2018 with the cooperation of the council for stem cells sciences and technologies.

The third symposium of stem cells and regenerative medicine in ophthalmology and the first workshop for introduction of iPSC technology in ophthalmology will be held with the cooperation of the council for stem cells sciences and technologies.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Amir Ali Hamidieh, secretary of the council for stem cells sciences and technologies, stated on the third symposium of Genetics and stem cells: in the past three years, more than 50 symposiums and workshops have been held by this council.

Secretary of the council for stem cell sciences and technologies pointing out that the first-stage winners of the 24th Olympiad of the Student testing Organization can participate in the first student Olympiad of Stem Cell sciences and tissue engineering.

The student Olympiad of stem cell science and technologies and tissue engineering will be held for the first time with the support of the council for stem cells science and technologies.
