Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cells Technologies

Research projects on stem cells will be supported due to the cooperation between the Iranian national science foundation and the council for stem cells sciences and technologies.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Ezatollah Zargham, head of the national science foundation, talked about the cooperation of the foundation with and the council for stem cells sciences and technologies: this cooperation can increase synergy and lead to the realization of more goals in the area of research, technology, production and business.

He introduced three areas as the goals of this cooperation, including helping the strengthening and development of science and technology infrastructures, helping the development of research and growth of science and technology in the country and development of current knowledge boarders, which can facilitate entering the global areas.

He also announced the coverage of the whole country by the support of the national science foundation.

The first joint program with the council for stem cells sciences and technologies is support of 16 research projects. Announcing the preparedness to conclude the contract with relevant authorities, he affirmed: the council for stem cells sciences and technologies is responsible for selecting an observer to monitor the implementation processes of projects.

Support of the next projects is the result of joint meetings with the council for stem cells sciences and technologies.

President of the national science foundation pointed out: it will be possible to emphasize the technology section along with more research works by the foundation. This is our first experience of cooperation with councils.

At the end, he expressed hope about this cooperation and regarded it a model for other councils. He believed that this type of cooperation and division of responsibilities will lead to more success and productivity.
