CureOne, Washington University Partner to Link NGS Data With Treatment Information
Washington University School of Medicine has partnered with the nonprofit CureOne to link cancer genomic data with treatment information.
CureOne will work with Wash Us Genomics and Pathology Services (GPS) laboratory, which offers clinical NGS-based cancer tests, to share data through CureOnes N1 Registry, an open-access database that links NGS data with information about treatment and clinical outcomes.
The nonprofit, formerly known as MED-C, is working to standardize clinical genomic data. In 2015, it received funding to launch a registry in non-small cell lung cancer. Earlier this year, both Foundation Medicine and Guardant Health also agreed to participate in its N1 Registry.
CureOnes goal is to "start harnessing and standardizing the data that makes it possible" to find cures to cancer, CureOne Founder and CEO Dane Dickson said in a statement.
"In collaboration with CureOne, well provide high-quality, mutational profiles for patients enrolled in this registry, hopefully across many different cancer types," added GPS Chief Medical Officer Jon Heusel. "The need for this kind of comprehensive data is great and long overdue."
