The Technology Working Group Held Its Third Session
Third Meeting of Technology Working Group Held with Presence of Dr. Hamidieh Secretary of Council.
According to Stem Cell Council Public Relations and International Affairs,third meeting of technology working group held with presence of Dr. Hamidieh secretary of council.
At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Hashemi, in charge of councils specialized working groups said, "We must arrange regular and coherent programs in order to achieve better results and we would be able to make better use of them for future planning".
Next Dr. nikougoftar said, "Technology plans have been separated from research plans. Estimation of the plans have been done in 2 levels. From total 33 technology plans, 18 plans have been entered into second round of evaluations. In the second round 9 plans have been approved by the arbiters."
She added, "Plans have been divided into 3 supporting levels. Plans with 100 million Tomans will be covered by council supporting funds, amounts between 100 to 700 million Tomans will be covered by council support and plans with higher amounts will be covered by innovation and development funds."
He also mentioned about presenting a letter from working groups secretary to the council and said, "In this letter tax exemptions for knowledge base companies have been sent to ministry of economic and financial affairs and these companies can profit from these facilities."
Dr. Fathi presented his plan about producing mouse with immune system defection by changing Fox N1 genes by using CRISPR/CAS and said, T cells wont produce because of the absence of thymus.
In this regard Dr. Zeinali stated, "The necessity for this plan must be clarified".
Dr. Moshiri said, "In order to reduce the expenses of this project we can import mice and then multiply them. We can also work on genes have not been attempted before in this area and produce number of different genes"
Dr. Fathi said,"if we produce this gene of mouse we will be able to produce other genes. He cited an essay which showed absence of production of this gene till now."
Dr. Hashemi said, "Production of this mouse is valuable but we must pay attention to its maintenance costs".
Dr. Movahedin pointed out the clarification of the necessity of this plan and suggested mission- oriented view for this plan.
Next Dr. Soleimani said, if the cost evaluation of the plan is lower it would be of great benefit to the country.
Mentioning that the executive of this project has enough capability, Dr. Hamidieh said, "It is better to title the plan skid according to the members opinions."
He deemed the exact cost of this project necessary and said, "we have 3 types of plans in the council: infrastructure plans, research and technological plans. Hence it should be clarified whether the plan will be offered by the company or the university".
Then Dr. Mostafaee told about some of plans done with support of the council and stated, "according to the call of the stem cell council, a list has been prepared in anti-body field and some of its costs have been covered by the council". He also suggested the monitoring system in council for following up of the related plans.
Dr. Nikougoftar told about an agreement for technological plans of the council and said, "according to the agreement the related work report will be sent to the council and after being evaluated by the arbiters, the final level of payment will be done."
In this regard, Dr. Zeinali expressed, "if the councils support is in the form of loans, work report must be precisely presented by the executives and then observers must be appointed and all supporting areas must be covered for the plan."
Dr. Nikougoftar said, "High percentage of the plans given to the council lack a written report. Colleagues can also present their products in the festival."
Dr. Hamidieh said, "Precise planning has been done in the council during past six months in order to hold working groups. Despite high number of research plans of the council, the highest budget has been dedicated to technological plans. Currently, the first priority of the council are technological plans. Business plans must be prepared for technological plans and we must investigate the plans needed by the country."
Dr. Ahmad beige stated,"the highest usage of HLA kit belongs to the blood transfusion center and shariati hospital. The purchase of these products must be guaranteed."
Dr moshini in this regards said,"we must have related experience in this field and the plans should be supported appropriately."
Dr. Zeinali emphasizing the time consumption of manufacturing mentioned,"Ariogene company transfer technology to Turkey. Knowledge-based companies must be supported in our country."
Dr. Soleimani mentioned proper attempts done in the country in this field and said, "We must have remarkable development in cell field. There are Major technological plans on which we can concentrate.
Concerning HLA plans Dr. Zarnani cited,"we can put these projects into effect though it will be time consuming and they need support from the council. If we are going to have a quality product, we should have got the scientific technology. Guaranteeing the purchase of products by the council could be beneficial."
Emphasizing the demand-based condition of productions in the country Dr. Movahedin expressed,"in addition to the presence of applicants in the market, we must stop importing products to the country."
At the end Dr. Zeinali emphasized the need for financial support of research projects.
