Researchers at the Royan Research Institute, in collaboration with a number of foreign researchers, have succeeded in identifying key genes in the process of blastocyst to embryonic stem cells.
Embryonic stem cells are derived from the internal cell mass of the embryos at the blastocyst stage. The cells culturing of the embryonic inner cell mass at appropriate conditions results in their immortality and the formation of embryonic stem cells. the basis for the development of embryonic stem cells from the inner layers of the embryo is not well-known.
In this regard, researchers at the Royan Research Institute, in collaboration with researchers from Europe, designed a study to investigate the process of gene expression, identifying key genes in the process of transforming embryonic inner cell mass into embryonic stem cells.
The results of this study, published in the International Journal of Stem Cell Reports, showed that DNA methylation plays an essential role in this process. In this study, for the first time, a mechanism for the production of embryonic stem cells is presented in vitro. Researchers have shown that the transformation of cells from epithelial to mesenchymal should be inhibited in the early stages of the embryo so that the cells of the inner layer of the embryo become immortal embryonic stem cells.
This finding provides a source of genetic information that reveals gene expression changes during embryonic stem cell transformation. To learn more about this article, you can use the link below:
