The Necessity of Paying Attention to Creating Joint Educating and Researching Centers in the Field of Stem Cells
According to the public relations and information center of the presidency vice presidency for science and technology affairs, Mohammad Farhadi- minister of science, research and technology at the cessation ceremony of the national festival and international congress on sciences and technologies of stem cells and regenerative medicine, mentioned the importance of the technology of stem cells and regenerative medicine, emphasized on pursuing and propagating these sciences in education and research and said: Stem cells is a interdisciplinary field and different majors like engineering , medical and math should work on this issue.
Minister of science, research and technology mentioned the importance of the technology of stem cells and regenerative medicine in treating incurable diseases and said: Today, illnesses such as deafness considered disability previously are diagnosed at birth and can be treated by a scientific system. Moreover, 10 thousand deaf kids and adults have been cured by science progress. Hence we can treat incurable diseases by relying on science and expanding the issue of stem cells.
Farhadi considered the bone, cartilage, skin and organs related to neuroscience as the most important rebuilt fields with the help of stem cells and regenerative medicine and said: Genetic was broached last century and cell therapy and regenerative medicine are broached as major parts of stem cells in fields such as neuroscience and have a significant role in treating various diseases such as cerebral injuries.
Minister of science, research and technology mentioned the activity of over than 50 knowledge-based companies of our country in stem cells and regenerative medicine and said: One company was active in this field at the beginning but today the number of active companies has reached 50. 5000 companies are active in the world with the topic of stem cells.
Farhadi emphasized on increasing joint international cooperation among knowledge-based companies and added: It should be tried for establishing majors related to this topic. Moreover, stem cells issue can be supported by holding workshops, festivals and publishing international papers.
