“Dealing with sanctions” is this year’s mission of knowledge-based companies

The vice president for science and technology stated: the major priority of those working in the ecosystem of innovation and entrepreneurship in this year is eliminating sanctioned technological needs.

According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, regarded the domestic and industrial capacities of the province an opportunity for flourishing of knowledge-based businesses and creating added-value in the council meeting of economy of resistance, expressing: the province is ranked first in terms of production of advanced biotech drugs. In addition, it is one of the powerful drug producing areas. On the other hand, producing industrial and production-based machineries and equipment by units of the province will lead to a bright future regarding the knowledge-based economy of the province.

Sattari mentioned that this year, knowledge-based companies have put the elimination of needs for sanctioned technologies on their agenda. In this regard, he continued: financing knowledge-based companies is associated with the goal of dealing with sanctions and helping the ecosystem to produce knowledge-based goods and services.

Meeting Pharmaceutical Needs of the Country with the Help of Knowledge-based Institutions

Pointing out the supply of more than 97% of the country’s needs with Iranian products with the help of pharmaceutical knowledge-based companies, Sattari asserted: we have planned to produce the remaining 3% with the help of accelerators of the private sector and activists of the knowledge-based ecosystem.

Boosting Production by Boosting the Ecosystem

The president of the national elites foundation reminded that this infrastructure is the most important prerequisite for activities and flourishing of knowledge-based and startup businesses, marking: the government has aimed to play a suitable facilitating role in order to prevent excessive import and deal with bureaucratic obstacles on the path of those working in the knowledge-based ecosystem. These barriers are based on an inappropriate oil culture and consolidated low-income revenues from the sale of underground resources.

Emergence of New Business Generation with a New Generation

Pointing out that the goal of the Vice-Presidency is helping knowledge-based businesses and elite activists to grow in an innovation ecosystem without any concerns, Sattari added: academic and graduated youth must move toward entrepreneurship with no concerns. However, occurrence of such an important phenomenon demands having an extreme desire for this issue by startup activists.

Sattari talked about the emergence of a new generation of science and technology parks, stating: innovation factories are the emerging place for companies that can make a serious change in the economy of the country. Today, various examples of these businesses are observed in the province. Distinguished companies have made significant improvement in various research centers in the field of domestic benefits, advanced industries and recombinant drugs.

Sattari reminded the attractiveness of these businesses for non-resident elites, expressing: many of these businesses have returned a considerable number of PhD students to the country. This important task has occurred with the help of creative entrepreneurs of the ecosystem of innovation and entrepreneurship.

Emphasizing the highlighted role of the private sector in the process of growth and acceleration of innovation businesses, Sattari affirmed: businesses supported by the private sector can solve the society’s problems by accurately recognizing the needs in this regard. Research centers and universities are the major infrastructures of this issue. They must generate incomes by selling technology and contracts to deal with industry to grow as far as possible and turn creative and unique ideas into products and services.
