According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, the Mustafa Prize was granted to the top scholars of the Islamic world from Jordan and Singapore in the first round of the event, which was held December 25th 2017 in the presence of scholars from more than 25 countries. This event was covered by 300 news agencies and valid scientific journals of tens of countries around the world.
Regarding to the ending of the judgment process of the event, the second round of the Mustafa Prize will be held December 3rd 2017 in the presence of prominent figures in the area of science and technology of the Islamic world in Vahdat Hall of Tehran.
On the first round of the event, Mohammad Javad Zarif, the minister of foreign affairs, stated: holding this prize is extremely important for scientific growth of Islamic countries. One of the goals of the Mustafa Prize is improvement of science in the Islamic world. We hope that with the help of each other, we can create an opportunity for achieving this goal as quickly as possible and witness the high scientific rank of Muslims and returning to the golden era.
He also emphasized: the scientific diplomacy has also a special place in achieving this goal in Islamic countries. One of the reasons for our success in Geneva negotiations was our scientific advances especially in the nuclear energy area, which increased our bargaining power. With the help of God, this successful trend will continue by scientific advancements in the country.
The Mustafa Prize is the high symbol of science and technology in the Islamic world, granted to the top scholars and researchers of the Islamic world every two years. By recognition, introduction and appreciation of bests of science and technology in the Islamic world, the Mustafa Prize promotes science and research in Islamic communities.
According to the executive document of the Mustafa Prize, Sorena Sattari (vice president for science and technology affairs) and Mahdi Safarnia (head of Pardis technology park) are appointed as the head and secretary of the policy-making council of the prize, respectively.
The second round of the Mustafa Prize will be held on December 3rd 2017 in Vahdat Hall of Tehran in the presence of prominent figures of the Islamic world in the area of science and technology.
