The first modern center of medical training in Iran was founded in 1851. It was a part of the Institute of Dar-ol-Fonoon (Polytechnic). The School of Medicine was established as a part of University of Tehran in 1934. Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) is the oldest and most well-known medical center in Iran, nationally as well as internationally. It also has the largest schools of medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, rehabilitation, allied medical sciences, public health, advanced technologies in medicine, nutritional sciences and dietetics, and nursing and midwifery in Iran as well as a virtual school.
Children’s Medical Center (CMC) Hospital as the country’s center of excellence in pediatrics and the most comprehensive teaching, therapeutic and research center of children diseases in Iran, has started its activity since 1968, and has been named as, Dr. Ahari Hospital in honor of the efforts of Dr.Hassan Ahari, and Dr Mohammad Gharib.
Since launched in 1985, The International Congress of Pediatrics (ICP) has brought together the greatest and most well known researchers and pioneer scientists, from every field in the healthcare spectrum related to pediatrics. This year, the 32nd international congress on pediatrics, will be held on November 2nd-6th hosted by Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS). Due to the Corona Pandemic, our congress will be completely virtual this year and will attract more than 500 participants in online sessions. We are excited to welcome audiences around the world to be a part of this event. Different aspects of pediatrics will be covered in this program.
