According to the report of Public Relations and International Affairs of Council for Development of Stem Cell Sciences and Technologies, the hematopoietic stem cell transplantation department of Al-Zahra Medical Education Center was operational with the presence of Dr. Amir Ali Hamidieh, Secretary of Council, member of the board of Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation in Asia and the Pacific, Dr. Baghaie, Director of Public Relations and International Affairs, Dr. Soltaninejad, Director of Technology, Commercialization and Market, Dr. Shahin Shirani, University President, Dr. Syed Morteza Heidari, Vice President of University Medicine, Dr. Golzari, Director of Disease Affairs and The directorate of the hospital and a group of university officials were inaugurated.
This department has 6 beds and by employing more than 30 trained medical personnel, it will serve cancer patients who need hematopoietic stem cell transplantation for definitive treatment.
This department has been put into operation in a space with an area of 630 square meters and with a cost of 120 billion rials for the purpose of construction and purchase of medical equipment needed in the largest medical training center in Isfahan province.
Referring to the important progress of the province in the field of stem cells, the Vice President of Research and Technology of Isfahan University of Medical Sciences said: We must move faster in this way because with all the capacities and capabilities available on a national scale, we must have a greater contribution.
Mansour Siavash added: In terms of human resources, 28 people are studying at the doctoral level and 12 people are studying at the master's level in this field at the university, and so far 32 projects have been implemented in this field and 15 more projects are being implemented and three knowledge-based companies We are active in this field.
Referring to the activity of 6 active laboratories in the field of stem cells in Isfahan province, he noted: 10 research centers related to the research activity of stem cells are also active.
