This service has been developed from a limited number of hematopoietic stem cell transplant centers in only 4 centers to more than 1300 transplants per year in more than 20 centers, and now, while increasing the quantity of transplants, it is possible to perform complex transplants such as semi-compatible transplants and from other Relatives donors have become possible in different centers.
Considering that the process of cell therapy, gene therapy and tissue engineering requires the development of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation departments for initial development, therefore the establishment of these departments in research and treatment centers can be the basis for the significant growth of technologies in the field of regenerative medicine.
Therefore, helping to set up these departments in different parts of the country, in addition to alleviating the pain and problems of patients, will greatly help the development of this strategic science and technology, And accordingly, hematopoietic stem cell transplant departments, with the support of the Vice-Chancellor of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Health, treatment and medical education will be expanded. With the opening of this department in Shahid Sadoughi Hospital, Yazd, patients will not need to go to bigger cities for hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.
