Reopening the Shiraz Comprehensive Center of Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine

 

According to the report of Public Relations and International Affairs of Council for Development of Stem Cell Sciences and Technologies, Ruhollah Dehghani, Vice president of Science and Technology, opened the final phase of the Shiraz Comprehensive Center of Stem cells and Regenerative Medicine.

The final phase of this center, which was launched with the support of the Vice President of Science, Technology and the Knowledge-Based Economy, included the installation of clean rooms. These rooms have a suitable space for the simultaneous activity of 4 Knowledge-based companies.

The purpose of setting up clean rooms is to train dedicated scientists, develop science, produce new products and establish knowledge-based companies. The area of this center is 230 meters and its contract was signed in 1395 between the Vice Presidency of Science and Technology and Shiraz University of Medical Sciences.

Previously, 10 comprehensive stem cell and regenerative medicine centers were established in the country, include the comprehensive centers at Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Royan Research Institute, Iran University of Medical Sciences, and Tabriz University of Medical Sciences, which reached the final phase and all facilities are in operation. Shiraz University of Medical Sciences was the 11th comprehensive center.
