Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cells Technologies

The closing ceremony of the second “Stem-up” or stem cells startup, which was held for three days at technology park of University of Tehran, was held in the presence of Amir Ali Hamidieh, secretary of Council for stem cells science and technologies, instructors, judges and managers of various sections of the event and participating teams.

According to Dr. Peyman Keyhanvar, advisor to the secretary of stem cells and regenerative medicine, the participating teams of this entrepreneurial event were able to find their problems and learn about each other’s abilities during the three days of the event. In addition to presenting the issue of evaluation of problems in the target market, participants recognized their goals, communicated with clients and took step toward presenting a technological product or service.

Idea owner of the stem cell weekend startup recognized the significant gathering of high school and university students, who are active in the field of stem cells, as one of the special phenomenon of the event, stating that 91 participants gathered from 37 different cities from all of the provinces of Iran.

He also pointed out the cooperation of 27 nationwide universities, adding that more than 50% of universities were affiliated to ministry of science and others were universities under the ministry of health and medical education. He expressed his content with the collaboration of universities of both ministries, regarding is as indicator of a suitable process which provided the opportunity for gathering of medical universities and other universities from different fields.

One of the interesting phenomenon of the startup was equal score of two projects as the third place winners, which led to the selection of both projects by judges to obtain the prize of the third place winner mutually.

The third place winners of the startup were ideas with the titles of “virtual training base” and “celleat”, both of which earned 80 scores and were selected as the third winners of the event.

With only three more scores, the idea of “rvls leopard” was selected as the second place winner of the startup with 83 scores.

The second entrepreneurial event of stem cells was held July 10^th-12^th, 2017 at technology park of University of Tehran in the presence of high school and university students of the country.

 The congress section of the second national festival and international congress of stem cells and regenerative medicine was held July 13^th-15^th, 2017 at Iran international conference center with the support of council for stem cells science and technologies.
